Distance Education Adds Program Flexibility

Affiliate Professor David Wild offers ChE 531, "Introduction of Cheminformatics," from Indiana University via video conferencing.

Distance and online learning remove traditional boundaries of time and location and offer flexibility not often found in academic situations. The latest technologies give students access to online video lectures and interactive discussion with faculty and peers, participating entirely online. This can enable students to take course part-time while continuing full-time employment. In the Pharmaceutical Engineering Program, it also allows students to learn from faculty who are not based on the University of Michigan campus.
